The Editors of Call to Care



Mary Auterman, associate professor of nursing at Augustana College, teaches in the areas of adolescent health, maternity nursing, ethical and legal aspects of nursing, and is director of the Parish Nursing Center. She is a member of an Institutional Review Board for Protection of Human Subjects. She has a BSN from the University of Colorado, MA from the University of Iowa, and DNSc from Indiana University. She has contributed articles on adolescent pregnancy and on parish nursing to South Dakota Nurse, Pacemaker, and other publications. She has been active in the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing, and the South Dakota Perinatal Association.

Arthur L. Olsen, professor emeritus of philosophy and religion at Augustana College, continues to teach in the areas of ethics and biomedical ethics. As a member of four ethics committees at health care institutions, he is active in the practice of biomedical ethics. He is a member and current chair of the board for the Center for Ethics and Caring at Sioux Valley Hospital. As Provost and Academic Vice President of Augustana, he was instrumental in instituting Capstone courses and served as the first director of the Capstone project. A graduate of St. Olaf College, he has earned the MDiv from Luther Seminary and the ThD from Harvard University.
